End of Season
This season is over and now all we have is a few months of peace and quiet….and training, naturally. On the whole this season has gone quite well in the singles- despite me not going up a grade. In the doubles me and Henry have had to play silvers after him winning the Wiltshire Bronze. Ironically I have done a lot better in U15 Silver than in Bronzes. Next year I am going to try to get up to silver as well as win a few more tournaments. I finished the season on a high by reaching the quarters of the Warwickshire U14′s before losing through sheer fatigue to Daniel Blair. However I did play well but unfortunately Dan played better.
U13 Gold Milton Keynes
After a tough singles box, I played Line Neilsen from Denmark who I beat in 3 sets to get to the quarters. Then I played Irina Andersen from Denmark who I beat in 3 tough sets to get to the semi. Amber and I got to the semis in doubles and played Sofie Neilsen and Maja Rindshoej from Denmark and just lost in 3 sets. I was pleased to have played well against so many Danish girls this weekend. Thank you Manny and Ella for helping me.
U17 bronze semi finalist worcester, Neelam Kaur
on the 16th january i went to worcester to play in a U17 bronze tournament. I lost in the semi, 21-12 against Helen Duan from worcestershire.
Under 13 Bronze Warwick Rohan Gupta Gold Doubles Silver Singles
I took my first tournament of 2010 by storm first by winning the boys doubles with my partner Henry Prothero from Wiltshire. We then just beat the number one doubles seeds in the group stages then in the final we narrowly beat Ryan Quek and his partner Sachin Chandra. We had previously beaten them in the groupstages of the under 13s Warwickshire silver but that game had reached three sets so we were unsure of how well we would do. Then in the boys singles I moved my way steadily through the tournament beating Sachin Chandra again in the quarter finals followed swiftly by Joe Roberts who had beaten him at the previous games. The final was against Ajay Golati from middlesex where I lost due to my inadequate serving and badly called line calls during the match.
End of Season Results
I finished my last tournament of the season with a silver medal in doubles at the U15 Tunbridge wells Open, playing 3 years above my age group. A BIG thank you to Manny, Ella and Tuomas for training me and all your support for the last year and making me a gold player. I couldn’t have done it without you.
p.s. Thank you to Callum for the lovely cupcake on Wednesday.

Essex U13 Gold
This weekend I played the Essex U13 Gold@Harlow. Though Badminton England had given me a tough draw I still managed to get through to the Quarter-Finals where I had to play Bethany Tsui-Yee Lau (sorry if I’ve spelt your name wrong!), before having to play Joshwey Bong in the Semi’s, I lost- 21-14,17-21,11-21. Jessica Hopton and I won the Girls Doubles, beating Emily Wtts and Kelly Miller in the Final. Finally, Mixed-Doubles, after beating Harrison and Katherine Seywell in the Quarter’s, Sean and I won the Mixed Doubles beating Jessica Hopton and Marcus Smith in the Finals in 2.
I liked to say a big thankyou to Sharon for supporting and coaching me this weekend, Caroline for supporting me and encouraging me, to my mum for driving me all that way and supporting me as well as my partners for encouraging and playing with me, as well as Harrison and Ric for also supporting me as well as lending me a racket at the end for I have broken yet another string!
